I have been a radio operator since Feb. 16, 1993. I have
to say that when KO4RK, Joe Wagner, pushed the issue about becoming a radio operator, I
really didn't think too much of it. Now over six years later I found that I have not one
day go by without using my privileges. I have spoken to many people for the purpose of
entertainment as well as emergency usage. I have even had the chance to talk to and
digipeat throught the MIR (R0MIR-1) space station. Amateur radio has given me
one more chance to assist my community and have a hobby at the same time. It is a hobby
worth passing on.
